Hugger Mugger Earth Elements Eco Exercise/Yoga Mat 5mm (72-Inch, Sky/Ocean)

I love the non-toxic quality of this mat. As I am very sensitive to chemicals, the fact that this mat is PVC, rubber, and latex free, is most important to me. Cannot wait until I am doing yoga so often that I am shredding it with my toenails as the other reviewer. Also, I've noticed that this is the nicest looking mat in my class.

Manduka eKO 71-Inch 5mm Eco-Friendly Yoga Mat

This mat has pretty much fallen in line with the comments I read before buying it, but a little work and a little patience has really paid off. 1)It stinks badly at first but I tried using the apple cider vinegar and then letting it lay open in my garage and that took care of most of the smell. 2)To my disappointment it was slippery on the hands when doing downward facing dog. That was one of the major reasons for me wanting a new mat. I spoke with other people in the class who have Manduka mats and they said it takes a little time but eventually that would go away, and, thankfully, for the most part it has. Now, I use a towel when I first start class but soon after I am working towel-free. Based on the progress I've made, I assume eventually I will not need one at all. 3)It is heavy, there isn't much that can be done about that. I figure I am going to work out so why cry about carrying around a few extra pounds before/after class. 4)5mm provides enough cushion for the knees. With my other mat, I needed to reinforce the cushion with an addition mat. I no longer need a second mat during my practice which I love. So, I was nervous when I first got this mat becuase it seemed to live up to all the bad stuff people had been saying about it, but after a little patience and perserverence, it is my favorite mat, and since it is a Manduka, I will get the pleasure of using it for years.

Hugger Mugger Foam Yoga Wedge

This yoga wedge works very well. The size is perfect and really helps my wrists (I have tendonitis). As your wrists get stronger you can move towards the thinner edge of the wedge. The only thing that I could improve about this wedge is that it can be a little bit slippery in some poses, such as an upward bow or wheel pose.

Jade Harmony Professional 3/16-Inch Yoga Mat

This is the first Yoga mat that I've purchased. I was using the mats provided at the studio and was having a lot of problems with slipping. I've only had this mat a few weeks so I can't really comment on the wear of it, but so far it's holding up great. Yes, it does smell of rubber, pretty bad, my first couple of times using it my eyes actually watered. I've been keeping it unrolled and outside and now the smell isn't bad. I sweat a lot during practice and so far I haven't slid around on it. The only downfall for me is the mat length. I'm 5'10 so I tend to have to readjust myself on the mat at times. Next time I'll go with the longer mat.

The Firm Yoga Beginner Kit

This is a great kit for beginners. I've never done yoga before and this is the perfect kit for me. The DVD instruction is simple and at a nice pace. I love the fact that the mat, block and belt is all included. I felt very relaxed and refreshed after the routine and my muscles were a little sore the next day, which is proof that I worked them pretty good. I have used several different yoga mats, and one problem I find with sticky mats is when my hands start to sweat it makes doing downward dog difficult with my hands constantly sliding. Gaiam Tree of Life Yoga Mat

Works great for what I need. I am very new to yoga so I am not entirely sure what you look for in a mat. This one works great for me. I use it at home mostly on a carpeted floor. It does move sometimes and I have a hard time if my hands get sweaty. It seems a little thin for harder surfaces. But all in all a great mat. Very pretty, never noticed any of the smells that I have seen other people put on here.

Ultra Thick Yoga Mat

You get what you pay for, and I mean that in a good way. Inexpensive mat, but better then most inexpensive mats out there.Smells pretty terrible when you open it, like something plastic that came fresh from the factory, goes away after a day or so though. Also its a little slick but if you follow the instructions on the packaging, it will be fine. I'm happy with this product.

1/4" Thick Yoga Mat in Black Mesh Shoulder Carry Bag

It is a good deal because you get the mat and the carry bag for what you will have to pay for the just the mat. If you want a nice and practical bag (one that will not require any time and effort to get the mat in) I will recommend buying the mat and the bag separately...be aware that you would have to pay around 15 dollars for the bag. If you are just looking for a simple bag and for a good price this is the perfect package.

Hugger Mugger Mexican Yoga Blanket (Colors Vary)

After reading the reviews of this product and seeing the price, I wanted to try this blanket for myself. When I got it home, it was not what I expected. The weave was a bit loose (there were several large snags in it) and it was thinner than I had hoped. I would need to use another blanket folded up to provide support. Based on the picture, I was expecting something a bit more subdued with the colors. The one that I got was bright red and yellow - not exactly calming.

Overall, not a bad blanket and it will serve its purpose. If you need extra support, I suggest buying two. Just a warning to those who buy thinking it will look similar to the picture...it won't.

Standard Nylon Zippered Yoga Mat Bag

I looked at a bunch of different mat bags before purchasing this one because I was concerned about finding a bag that would be able to hold up to my 4 lbs Manduka Pro-Lite mat (71" x 24" x 3/16"). I finally wound up taking a chance with this bag and it was a good choice. It's very basic, no frills. Has a small mesh pouch inside for a wallet and a cell phone but doesn't really fit anything else. The strap feels sturdy and is adjustable. I looked at others that were bigger and could hold blankets and blocks and stuff, but I knew that it would annoy me to have my mat swing around in it, plus my studio has provides accessories so I don't have to tote my own. Overall, pleased with my purchase. Plus, it was only about $11! Can't beat the price.

Good value for money. The straps are amazingly soft and does not cut into the skin. The D-ring holds firmly without letting go under body weight. The only bad thing is that it's white. Rubbing against it too often turns it to off white. Then again it is a cool colour to have while binding.

SPRI Foam Yoga Block (Purple)

I purchased this yoga block to assist me with some of the seated poses. It's taller than other blocks, and I now realize that I should have chosen a standard sized block. I'm tall (5 feet 8 inches), and thought that this block made sense -- but I am also a beginner at yoga and have found the extra height of the block to be a problem. I'm back to using my Yellow Pages phone book, which is not as tall (and less rigid) for the seated poses. I do think this block is very well-made, but just not for me at this point in my work.

This item is not one of the best yoga mats but it does the deed. I mistakenly used sneakers and pressed the mat so hard it actually got rubbed down so I had to flip it. The cushion is not comfortable but is effective for doing quick positions. I would not recommend this if you want a long term yoga mat. Get something sturdier and thicker.

I have no other data point for comparison, this being my first mat; but I'm satisfied within all reasons. I definitely thought more than twice before buying, for fear of it turning out to be a smelly, slippery, too-thin, good-looking good-for-nothing-else. I was eventually still overcome by its charming looks, and so far I love it! The thickness turns out to be pretty acceptable (I'm doing it on carpet though); it's still smelling strongly (after 3-4 days) when I put my face next to it, but oh well, it's better than the air of Shanghai (where I'm from).

A friend recommended Hugger Mugger products so I decided to try these blocks.

They are very comfortable to use on my hands and under my legs, the cork is solid and offers good support. Good edges that do not dig into you and they are stable.

Manduka BlackMatPRO 71-Inch Yoga and Pilates Mat

This mat sure as has a lot of hype! I've been a yoga student for over 7 yrs, but have recently switched to Pilates with a much more dedicated outlook/workout for the past 2, partly due to a recent (2yrs ago) diagnosed lower back issue. This mat appears to be great for yoga, but not nearly thick enough for Pilates. I got this mat hoping there was a happy medium, since I do on occasion still practice yoga at home and in the studio (minus any and all back extensions) So.....planted feet,rib open,extending yogi's you'll love it! Closed rib, hundred, half-roll backers beware!!

Yogitoes Skidless Premium Mat-Size Yoga Towel

It seemed like no matter how many different Yoga mats I bought my hands would slide making it difficult to fully enjoy and get the most out of my practice. With this Yoga towel I do not slide at all. It is great for Yoga in a normal temperature and even better for hot Yoga. I would recommend this towel for any Yogi or Yogini that has issues with their hands or feet sliding on their mat. Even though this mat is a bit more expensive than some other Yoga towels it is well worth it because this towel (unlike those cheaper versions) has the grippy side that keeps the towel from moving around during practice.
